Objective

The Public Arts Grants program provides support for new creative work and interactive experiences in the City of Bloomington. Potential projects include installations, exhibits, performances, readings, exchanges, and other happenings. See these sites for good examples:

Eligibility

All tenured and tenure‐eligible faculty members as well as MFA students and graduate students in other relevant fields at IU Bloomington. All projects must be approved by the City of Bloomington; a member of the City administration will be a part of the review committee for projects.

Required Materials

  1. completed online application form
  2. project narrative and rationale (1-2 pages)
  3. completed budget form
  4. project timeline
  5. cv or resume

Funding Duration

  • Budgets should be one‐time amounts to be expended over one day, one week, or multiple weeks.
  • Projects will be completed in either spring (March-June) or fall (July-October).
  • The Public Arts Grants program does not provide multiple-year awards.

Deadline

November 13 for spring projects and March 13 for fall projects.
