The Distinguished Faculty and Distinguished Faculty Emeritus Research Fund is designed to provide support for research expenses to faculty holding the title of Distinguished Professor or Distinguished Professor Emeritus.

$3,000 grant to distinguished faculty, one request per fiscal year; $1,500 grant to distinguished faculty emeriti, one request per fiscal year

Conditions

Must be Bloomington faculty member of distinguished rank. Must submit the following to be considered for funding:

  • Amount requested
  • Explanation/justification on how the funds will be used to support research
  • If you received funding last year from the Distinguished Professor or Distinguished Professor Emeritus Research Fund, please provide a brief progress report.

Eligibility

IU Bloomington Distinguished Professors or Distinguished Professors Emeriti who received Distinguished Professor title prior to January 1, 2008.

Deadline

Funding is not automatic, retroactive, or guaranteed; applicants may recieve funds once a year by application only.

  • Applications submitted between July 1, 2015 and June 15, 2016 will be processed for FY 2015-2016.
  • Applications submitted between July 1, 2016 and June 15, 2017 will be processed for FY 2016-2017.
  • Applications submitted between July 1, 2017 and June 15, 2018 will be processed for FY 2017-2018.

How to Apply

Fill out the application form from above, specifying the amount requested; budget and justification; and explanation of how the funds will be used to support research. In addition, if you received funds last year, please send a brief progress report to David L.
